No, red cars are just more noticeable, so they are stopped more for speeding than neutral colored cars are!

No, sometimes the drivers might drive faster, but they don'y go faster because of the colour.

People whotend to drive faster would also tend to buy flashier cars and in flashier colours, I would've thought. Ergo, red being among the most vivid colours, red cars would go faster. But only because of the driver, surely.

No. They are just more attractive, especially to police, deputy sheriffs, and state troopers.

No, red is just a color it all has to do with the car, not the car's color.

There is a reason for this persistant myth. The answer lies in another myth of unverifiable authenticity.

The story goes that in the 1920s Chrysler brought out two models of cars simultaineously. One was a regular car and the second was a sports model. Both looked identical, but one could go a mind blowing 80kph.

For matters of safety, so people would realise that the car could in fact reach a higher top speed, Chrysler elected to paint a big RED stripe down the side of the sports model.

So for a little while red cars DID go faster...

    Cheers

"Red" is the reality of visible light to the eye through energy absorption at a specific wavelength. Just as the atmosphere of the Earth is reflected as a "blue" sky, so are most major roads "black". Because of the quantum transfer of energy (on a black road), opposing primary colors (red and yellow opposed to blue) will, in fact, be faster. Which ultimately leaves the burning question and answer: yes - blue cars will be the slowest on this planet. More information can be found in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu_moia-oVI
