Debit mostly. I have keep the change, so my savings account gets stroked with every purchase. I also tend to blow through cash. But now I travel alot and have a credit card that gives good points, so I've been using that more often. The trick is to use online banking to transfer the funds everyday to keep the interest at bay.
-
I use debit card as much as I can, but I always have cash on hand. The hookers in my area don't take cards yet.
-
I usually only have my debit and credit cards on me. I rarely have cash. Debit is convenient..I never have to guess if I have enough cash on me for something.
-
Debit and just a wee bit of cash. I rarely use credit cards, only when I travel, emergency, or if I'm making a large, planned purchase. I <heart> my debit card.
-
I use my debit card extensively. It's very convenient. I rarely have cash on me anymore. I never use credit cards.
-
only cash.the answer is quite obvious.
-
I use credit cards and pay them off every month. Some of them give 1-5% back on every purchase.
-
I use Credit Card's even when i have cash on me, this way i get points or rewards.
-
I have to use cash. My thought process is all caddywhompus, and if I have a card, for some reason I think there is more money than there really is. With cash, what I see is what I have.
-
Credit cards - I get to use their money; they keep track for me of what I spend and on what. Plus I accrue bonus points for free stuff. The trick is I pay the bill in full and on time EVERY month to avoid all interest and fees. If card is lost/stolen, I'm protected. Debit cards are equivalent to ck books and if stolen, crook has access to your bank acct. That scares me.
-
i use credit cards cause it's fast and much easier to use ....as in my case ....
-
HGL, I use debit since credit cards only get one into trouble. I like to be in control of my finances, not to have them control me.
-
Credit cards mainly. That leaves the money in my account gaining interest for up to another six weeks. I always pay the cards of IN TOTAL every month. I do not pay interest. Used correctly cards are a great asset for the holder.
-
Debit cards for most things except restaurants. I don't think the individual waiter/waitress who served you gets the tip if you don't leave it in cash.
-
Debit cards for shopping, Credit card to order airline tickets and reserve hotel rooms. I then when I get the bill I can pay both off in full. I never pay payments.
-
I use one credit card (platinum MasterCard with a 5-figure credit limit) for every purchase except for when shopping at thrift or some dollar stores that are cash-only. I use credit because I get between one and two months worth of float on my money (so that I can be making interest in a FDIC-insured savings account), build a credit history, get a small amount cash-back, and have extended warranty protection/ease of return/security against fraudulent use (zero liability, but the law caps it at $50). I bought a refrigerator/freezer tonight and it doubled the manufacturer's warranty. (The salesperson still pushed the store's "extended protection" of course.) I am the master of my MasterCard. I make it work for me instead of the other way around. I wouldn't advise some people to use credit (it's VERY easy to abuse), but it really is an individual decision.
-
Cash or my checkbook. I have one credit card, but rarely use it. They are more trouble than they are worth.

Both
-
Both. No credit cards. Just debit cards and cash. This keeps us away from Bankruptcy Court. Pay cash for everything.
-
Both. I use one card to track all tax deductible expenses and pay it off monthly. I use a Target card to get their 10%. I use a third card for gas purchases--that's the one that goes directly on my HELOC!!! lol

I prefer to use a card whenever I can. That way I always have some emergency cash in case I need it. If I'm in a situation where I think paying by cash would be faster, for example, i bought $19.50 worth of stuff and i have a 20 dollar bill, i will pay cash.
-
Got in trouble 2 times with cards. Now it's cash or nothing.
-
Cash. I don't like having to worry about owing other people money.
-
I like to buy things the old-fashioned way-----using cold, hard cash. My strict father taught me that----when you rely on cash, you have a better way of keeping track of your expenses and can save better. :)
-
Even though i have $10,000 invested in MBNA stock, they refused to give me a credit card. So i use cash always.
-
I almost always use my check card these days. I rarely have more than $10 in cash on me. All of my income is directly deposited into my account and I only take cash from the ATM if I know I am going to need it. I think I actually save money by doing this because I don't make as many impulse purchases as I do when I have cash.
-
I use cash for everyday things, but always use a card when dealing with larger quantities of money. Not that I ever have larger quantities of money.
-
Both, depends what it's for.
-
Cash, cash and more cash. I do have a card, but I never use it. Not until I run out of cold, hard dosh.
