1. Stay out of the middle if it doesn't concern you or 2. Invite all parties to a sit down discussion...with rules. No yelling (no violence should go without saying!)..no interrupting...A respected member of the family who has no axe to grind could act as mediatior...binding arbitration. The mediator listens to both sides...negotiates middle ground where possible, 'rules' where not possible and all shake hands at the end. The mediator must be agreed upon by both sides.
