Are automatic cars more expensive to repair than manual versions eg gearbox/automatic transmision? Car in question would be a hyundi.....

Not any more. At one time (when automatic transmissions were new) it was true that it cost more. It's actually now more expensive to have a manual transmission worked on because it's less common. I talked to a mechanic about this a couple of years ago.

no repair costs would likely be cheaper on the automatic transmission due to there is no clutch,pressureplate,etc...
