  • I'd guess pine cones, or pine trees. Some pine cones only open to release their seeds after being exposed to a high temperature, like fire. :o)
  • except... not expect... ooops..
  • The earth heals itself. Part of the wonderful balance God created. All that burnt stuff is wonderful fertilizer.
  • There are seeds deep enough to be protected from the fire. They only need rain to start to grow. I live in an area with very low levels of rainfall and consequently very little natural vegetation. A wet winter results in massive amounts of vegetation. The area in the picture is devoid of any vegetation virtually all the time, but this followed a wet winter.
  • When the burn took place. It not only turned everything into ashes. It also opened the pores in the ground were dead grass & leafs etc may of been blocking water & sunlight to enter. Now that the ground can again breathe. Plus the ashes being a great fertilizer. It will be much greener that before. I myself burn off the leaves on many of my job sites were I mow. Plus some of the fields were I live. It always works great for me. Plus no more of those dang ticks...........M.C.S.
  • The burnt ashes are good for plants that take over after the fire. Their seeds fall on the burnt area and start to grow. After a few years, it'll be green and a few trees will have started growing as well.
