Scared the heck out of me the first time I saw one do it. I was about waist deep in a river, and it just zipped past me on the surface.

I haven't seen a basilisk lisard run across water in person, but have seen it countless times on National Geograpic, Discovery, Animal Planet, and the like.

No, I haven't. Does it actually run on top of the water or does it just swim fast and high? :)
