Maybe a little untraditional, but I see nothing wrong with it. However, I would rather be the one to propose.

It may not be traditional but I don't thin it is unusual. I see many people who have made almost a united decision with both people agreeing to marry, not just one person asking. And I know a few ladies that have asked their fellas. Actually the ones that have done it by 'committee' or from the women asking all are very happy and stable families, maybe more so than the traditional ones.
