I only use checks to pay for bills, don't really see their point, you can use debit card, and the merchant has a guarantee he'll get his money, compared to a personal check which could be just worthless piece of paper, and on top of it, if it bounces the merchant also has to pay a fee...

I still write checks when I pay for things on line, but then I have to mail them which is a pain. Since I don't have a credit card, I write personal checks. Most people will still except them when I tell them I don't own a credit card.

They still take cheks for all my bills and at all of our local stores!!!!!!

You can still write paper checks at some places, but it's getting rarer and rarer. I prefer to pay via credit card and most places are accepting debit ("check") cards now. People seem to be switching to electronic payments as well.
