  • Wow. Cartilage suck at healing. I have two and they took me about a year if not more or constant cleaning. Its a long comiment this one! The bump is just your body trying to heal. Soak up a cotton ball with a sea salt and warm water mixture and soak up your ear(well the new piercing) do this a few times a day and it should go away! don't use hair products, or if you do avaoid the fresh piercing, and enjoy your new addition ^_^
  • Generally healing time is about 1 month for it to feel ok, and takes about 4 months for the piercing to heal; the piercing will take about 6 months to 1 year to be fully healed.Chances of forming excessive scar tissue (such as keloids, ugly masses of raised scar tissue that get irritated easily) is high if you play with your piercing, so DON'T play with it.Use a saline solution to soak your ear in-about 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt or non-iodized salt (the iodine in normal table salt will irritate your piercing) for every 8 ounces of distilled water (or boil the water with the salt and let cool). The saline should be just barely salty, like tears; any more will burn and irritate your piercing.Use it at a warm comfortable temperature, the heat will draw blood to the area helping it heal.
