  • The pay aside. I say negative, Roger that!
  • I would hate it.
  • Are you cooking in a wok all day at the local Chinese take out?
  • Not for me.
  • Nah, you do what you have to do. If you think you'd be better working less, then why dont you ask?
  • http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1258040 What is wrong with these answers?
  • You typed in 4 r's and no l's. You don't work around asians at all do you?
  • Yes. Lessen it to 8 hours a day and find some time to relax, unwind, and enjoy.
  • Depends on your situation...if you have a family, yes, 72 hours/week is too much PROVIDED you are not trying to support young children on your own. However, these days, the economy being what it is, a 60+ hour workweek is rapidly becoming the norm and not the exception.
  • As long as they are paying you and following all the labor laws in your State it's your choice. If they work you long hours, pay in unreported cash, and don't follow the applicable laws than it is not OK. Assuming you are in the US. Are you able to have a decent life otherwise and save for retirement? If not you are a wage-slave. Not illegal but not the best way to live. If you are in the US you have other options. It's your choice. A restaurant laborer will always be the lowest paid worker in the society, though. Do you speak English well? Do you have an education? Again, if you live in the US it's your choice. Good luck!
  • Yes - I still think it is too much.. but it depends what you want - if you are saving all your pennies, then you will soon be able to cut down on your hours.
  • Nah, i work 13 - 14 hours in construction sites... Working in a restaurant seems like heaven there.
  • It depend on where you are from. It depend on how much you make and hour to. You may not make any thing worth a shit and you have to work all them hours to make ends meet. If you are in foreign country that is how some of them people work. Also you may not have anything to go home to. There is many reason people work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. Maybe you need a life.
  • Yes, hope you're getting overtime. Assuming that the Bu$h administration didn't completely destroy all the labor laws.
  • depends on what your doing.
  • it depends on what country you are in. If you work in a factory in a developing nation then this is considered normal. If you live in a Western nation, then it is considered too much.
  • Nope, you're legally able to work 8-hr days, so 12 hours is not too much. If you feel it is, then it is. Some people work 12-16 hour days.
  • No, it's not. If you have time to sleep 7-8 hrs per night and are taking care of your psychosocial needs and health needs, you should be fine. I recall when I was 20...I worked 4 jobs AND carried 18 hrs. in college per semester. As long as you feel physically and mentally strong, you should be fine. Just watch out for warning signs of burn out and stress.
  • Depends my husband works 2 40 hour jobs and an part time 8 hor job each week that is 88 hours in one week. I think he works too much but he says he needs to work to make ends meet.
  • I would like to think so. It is important to maintain a balance in life: a time to work and a time to play.
  • Are you dead yet? OK then you're evedently going to survive. I did 6 12's for almost a year. After a while you get kind of numb and stop noticing. Dwelling on it will only stress you and if you're doing anything physical the two will take their toll. I don't know where you are but if you're in the US and hourly your getting 32 hours at time and a half every week and that can add up depending on your base to some BIG money. I also don't know what you're doing but it could be that you're doing 6 12's because of some sort of production demand. If this is the case the OT will go away eventually but know with out doubt that when the OT goes is going like when somebody turns off a light switch. So here's tip. I've seen many guys get themselves into a life style that depends on the OT.
  • They say that "All work and no play makes John a dull boy ....." However; IF you are paying your way thru school ... or SAVING for a house ect ... getting ready to buy THAT SUV or TRUCK .... there is nothing wrong with WORKING for your dreams ....
  • In my 20's I had two full time jobs and went to college full time. I did this for one year - to achieve a goal of mine. Once I did - I slowed down, but it enabled me to move back to CA. where my family is. One of the best things I did.
  • You're young and should be able to handle it, a lot of people work more. It doesn't leave you much time for yourself, but it's the best way to get far enough ahead and save your money for the nice things that you want to have later. Things like that nice house, a nice car, maybe your own restaurant or some other type of business.
  • be glad you have a job! I would gladly work 6 days 12 hrs per and thankful! I'm 53 yrs
  • I think it is as it doesn't leave enough time to have a life, but it depends on if you are enjoying your work or not.
  • Perhaps you should ask that question of a farmer or soldier.
