What's the best SUNNY place (with beach...) to go in december-january? Florida, Cali? or any better advice in the US?

Wintertime is peak season for the Caribbean. Florida would be good in wintertime as well. California will be a bit cooler, even down south, but San Diego is always nice.

Florida (south) or South Padre Island, Texas will be your warmest spots.

I would opt for the Florida Keys. I am in Key West right now and the weather is only going to get better in the next few months (less rain, more sun).

I'm not fond of FL in winter - too many wrinkly snow-birds. I do like northern FL around St. Augustine most of the time or the gulf coast around Panana City. Most anywhere along the Gulf of Mexico from FL to TX would be nice in Dec-Jan. At least you know the hurricanes have left the area!
