Should doctors and nurses be given special consideration, when stopped for a traffic violation?

I don't think it'd be a bad idea for minor traffic violations. I always thought they should have a secret code for an officer in case they get pulled over for speeding.

No. No one should be above the law. What sort of message does that send? I don't want my doctor one who was out there drunk driving, or even super speeding!

Only if they can prove they are on the way to an emergency. Otherwise, they follow the rules.

I'm a nurse and i wouldn't expect preferential treatment....but they do seem to like getting us on the way home after a night shift!

I think anyone who can prove they are on their way to an emergency should be given special consideration. This would include parents rushing home to a very sick or injured child as well. The problem would be how to prove such an emergency.

No way. Why? Most of the time they aren't rushing to an emergency, in fact most doctors and nurses don't engage in working emeregencies.
