If I have a creditor's lien on my car, am I allowed to sell the engine out of it?

    Selling a vehicle with a lien, or any parts of the vehicle, is a felony in all states. it also violates many states laws, concerning the serial no. on the engine and other auto parts.

    if you do not pay the lein on the car the creditor will take the car and sell it @ auction.you will owe the difference in what he gets for the vehicle and what you owe on it.so if you owe$1000 on the lien,take out the engine,the car gets repo'ed,they'll get maybe $75 for the car.they will come back to you for the balance $925.....
