My mom's middle name was Marie and she gave all of her daughters the same middle name. So it's either tradition or lack of creativity

Apparently I was going to only have one name, Brian, but when somebody commented that I looked like my father my parents decided to add his name. They decided that John Brian sounds better than Brian John and that's how I came by a middle name that's the only name I use.

My dad wanted all the kids middle initials to be the same as his. J for John was his and we all have it to! Mine is Joan. It makes my feels so extra special knowing he did that!

My dad. It's a tradition for certain Indians I guess. Everyone in the family has a middle name from the first name of the male head of the nuclear family (even if dead). I guess it makes it easier to recognize a family. Almost like a second surname. "Whats your name?" "AA BA CA" "Oh, so you're from that "CA" family. I think I know your sister."

My middle name stems from the time when my Great great great great Grandfather Robert McQueen otherwise knowns in Lanarkshire Scotland as The Hanging Judge during the 18th Century. His first son bore the middle name Lawson... the laws sone/son of the law & so every male has obtained that middle name throughout the generations

Francisco, from my Grandfather on my mother's side of the family. Many of his relatives had the "Francisco" name as a middle name. It has been a family tradition.
