In order to keep the show running at its best. That's why sitcoms and other family dramas on TV run out of steam because the cast members have outgrown their rolls.

Because that is a classic show and I, for one, don't want them to grow older. I want to be on the Simpsons. I don't want to look any older than I am right now. I like the way I look now. Oh, sorry, didn't mean to write a book...

Because people wouldn't like the kids new ages, like Bart and Lisa as teenagers? I wouldnt find watching them at that age as enjoyable becuase it would feel like an alien show, I wouldnt like the change cause we love them for the ages they are now!

In shows like The Simpsons, there is very little continuity between episodes. There are only a few main constants and you rarely hear about something that happened in an earlier episode. So, there just isn't any aging. You can't really tell how much time has passed in the show's universe.

First their cartoon characters and who would want to hear a 90 year old say "I'm going to the backseat of my car with the woman I love, and I won't be back for TEN MINUTES."

I've never seen a cartoon get old or change like that. They are frozen in time
