If you get into a heated discussion w/ someone on AB, do you troll them? Has someone done that to you?

I've done it and it's been done to me. And I'm almost positive everyone on the Bag has done it at least once if they've gotten into it with someone else...that doesn't make it okay, just normal.

I have found in my heated discussions that it's best to just say your piece and move on. I have downrated answers that were offensive or factually incorrect, but those were rare instances. In turn, I have found that most of my entrenched opponents have been well-behaved. A few have 'trolled' me, but they usually get bored quickly and quit doing it.

Nope, I got into one recently with a user and I told her I was going to downrate her..and vice versa.

Yes I am trolled frequently I never retaliate or DR at all. I leave a comment if I disagree and move on .

I was so hoping no trolls on here. Yahoo answers is so bad and they are so mean and vile. Even a simple answer with the word please in it got me a violation email. I dont get whats wrong with them and I was so hoping this place was more adult like and fun. Anyone else ever have a bad experience on yahoo answers?

If I get into a discussion where they start name calling I just never go to any of their questions again but I don't troll but I have been stalked before.

No i try not to get in discussions but if i do i just stop commenting but never troll them, and yeah someone's done that to me.

Okay, I admit it..I did that once to one person. But he was so mean,vile and nasty and was making it very personal...it was a while back. I have never done it since and won't. And yes, I have been trolled, too.

No, but I often do avoid their questions. If it's just a heated, intelligent argument, that's one thing. But if this person is downright rude to me, then I'm not interested in further conversation -- on any thread.

Why would I troll somebody who has just treated me to a heated discussion. There's nothing wrong with an exchange of views.

No, they get me thrown in the penalty box and then I never have any contact with them again. When I return, they are like "dead" to me. Why get mad?

I've been trolled. It used to bother me but then I became flattered because it meant that the person really cared enough to follow me. I usually give them a troll loving comment. Besides, it doesn't hurt your overall rating.

I Never let it get that far. I know when someone is just trying to get me and it's just not worth it to me to be 'led' by someone. So, I've made my point as far as I want and then it's okay with me if they feel they have the last word. I don't need the last word. I would never troll someone. That does nothing and it only hurts me. I'd feel guilty for doing something so stupid, my percentages would go down and they would know that I let them get to me.

I never troll anyone no matter how heated the discussion gets. I do moderate the truely offensive people on here. I have not only been trolled, but stalked and defamed in questions by a user who liked to stir things up. We got rid of right quick. You've got to love our staff. They don't put up with any of that.

Not generally. If I am totally bored or they were particularly annoying I may follow their other posts to see what type of person they are. More often than not I find that they are reasonable people and that the discussion is merely a particular hot-button topic that they have a wild hair about. Sometimes I find another answer of theirs that deserves a comment or possibly even points. I have been trolled hard before.
