Get a white rat. Make sure that it has lab experience.

if you have a cage with food and water all set up, i dont see why not.

Oh man you so should. I was lonely when moved away from my family, and my bf bought me little man. He is so adorable, I love him so much. But you REALLY need to think if you want a female or male rat. Males tend to be friendly but like to pee on u and mark u. Females are little more hyper less love but they can get cancer and should be fixed. Males will stop peeing on you too if they are fixed. I just suggest you really think about it because they are VERY smart creatures who deserve a lot of love, you should look at the site dapperrat.com, they have a lot of fun stuff on there. Goodluck bringing the little guy home.

I have cared for and owned many pet rats. You really need to make sure they get plenty of attention. They are pack animals, and want you to spend plenty of time with them. Don;t forget fresh veggies!, very important, pressed pellets are not the greatest. They will eat any kind of nuts, and ar easily trained using them.

Yes, buy a rat. They are very clean and can become quite attached to you. They love being on your warm body. They can become quite lonely when you go away. My rat used to squeal when he heard me coming up to the room where he was kept. Hey they are gorgeous and very clean. They love eating nuts.

Only if you are ready to pay for them. Vet bills can go up to $500.00 and cages can be expensive aswell. Do lots of research before getting any.

i believe it is the year of the rat so why not go for it. My sister has two and she takes them everywhere with her, when she was a uni she took them a couple of times if she only had one class and it use to sit under her coller, they can be very well trained. and they are very clean pets. white ones are so cute but be carefull not to leave it in the sun they can get cancer very easy. good luck.

My daughter had mice and it got a tumor. She was so attached to the mouse that we paid the vet $300 to remove the tumor just to have another pop out a couple months later. It was put to sleep. Be aware that rats and mice are very prone to tumors which if left to grow will be bigger than the host. If you are going to get a pet there is a breeder making money of the sale and so breeding more. As mice and rats are so prone to tumors I wouldn't want one because it creates an animal (by demand) which will probably have to be put to sleep because of illness, or, cost you hundreds of dollars if you can't let it go. Contact a veterinarian to verify and while you're speaking with them which animals are the most healthy. Consider getting an animal from a shelter instead of a store as you'll be saving a life and not creating one. Good luck.
