  • A toothache always seems to hurt more at night. This is because the blood goes to your head and neck when you lie down. If you elevate your head the pain will ease.
  • Your tooth is not different at night than at day, nor is it even aware of the time difference. While lying in your bed your blood will flow more heavily to your head, so in increase in blood around your face and jaw could increase pressure in your mouth and hurt your tooth Otherwise, it may be exactly the same amount of pain as you felt earlier in the day, but since it's nigth and you're relaxed and calm, your mind can focus more on the paid than say during the day when you had an exam in class or were tlaking to a friend (not to say it didn't hurt then, just you were more adjusted to the pain)
  • Several factors: - What Alatea said: Lying down causes more blood to be in your head causing pressure. - Mostly, you've been using your mouth all day causing you to irritate the infected/sore area. That causes blood to go there again causing pressure. When you wake up, you haven't been using that tooth all night so it doesn't feel as bad.
