  • The cheap tables are plywood and tend to warp.
  • the bed of any quality table is made of slate (either one peice or three peices joined together) lesser quality tables use thinner slate and even worse quality tables use composits like "slatron" or plywood or fiberboard.
  • most slate for pool tables are 1" or 1& aquorter thick with a half inch would backing. The coin opperated tables, ( Globals or Vallys),and the Vallys the better of the two are one peice slates. there are outdoor tables too, and they have a concrete bed I think and steal construction. Also vinal for felt. it would be very cool to see one raised in a swimming pool.
  • Plastic ones beside the Pool where I drink
  • Your first question huh? My parents used to have a plywood pool table. Didn't like it much and got a slate one.
