  • Rich and good looking don't mean squat. Paris Hilton would be a nobody if she weren't related to the luxury hotel family. Smart is a matter of opinion. I'm high intellect but I've been told all my life that it doesn't count, and that "street smart" means a lot more in life than "book smart." Me, I'd rather admire someone on the basis of their heart. Real character can't be faked.
  • What do you mean by "intelligence can be the result of adroit use of smoke and mirrors"? There are multiple intelligences. I find creativity and problem-solving to be important. Of course, many serial killers are smart and have done evil in this world. I don't see why someone should be admired on the basis of being good-looking. Financial success is a combination of making money and not spending it all. (People can get rich quick, but many don't tend to STAY rich.) Yes, there can be exploitation, but most millionaires in this country are first-generation rich and go there by wise investment (retirement accounts) as well as entrepreneurship. "The Millionaire Next Door" and "The Automatic Millionaire" are good a good place to start. Having money doesn't make you a good person or a bad person. The same with intelligence and beauty. I think that someone should be admired because of what they've accomplished and/or overcome, what they stand for, etc.
