Often times it's the way people use the term. For a long time I'd rather have been called the "C word" than bitch, but once I stopped giving it so much power I don't hate it so much. See it's not the word that has the power, it's the way in which it's said. I could call someone a "Stupid chair head" and mean it with so much venom I may as well have called them the "C word" or bitch.
