I think anything sexual or relating to sex would be illegal to ask about during an interview, assuming that you weren't applying for a role in the adult entertainment industry, of course.

Depends on the job, but ditto what PrettyPirate said.

You cannot ask about pregnancy, religion or marital status. There may be other off-limit areas, but I'm not sure.

Employers should not ask about any of the following, because to not hire a candidate because of any one of them is discriminatory: • Race • Color • Sex • Religion • National origin • Birthplace • Age • Disability • Marital/family status So for example: You have a very unusual last name. What is its origin? (National Origin) How many more years do you see yourself in the work force (before retiring)?(Age) Are you planning a family in the near future? (Marital or Family Status) Are you religious? Will your religion prevent you from working extra hours or on weekends when we have a big project? (Religion) Are you a U.S. citizen? (National Origin) Do you have a visual, speech, or hearing disability? (Disability) And so on … Another tough new one is military service which they will probably know about from your résumé but they can’t ask: Do you think you will be deployed soon? Are you going to be called up? Or anything that gets at not hiring you because of absences due to military service.

I don't believe they can ask if a person has a disability/health issues unless it it something people can see (if you are in a wheelchair, there is no denying that), or that they can ask about your religion, or your sexual orientation, about your family, ethnic background, basically anything they can use to discriminate against you based on anything other than your qualifications.

"Do you have children"? "Are you married"? "Do you plan to get pregnant"? "Do you observe Yom Kippur"? (or some other religious holiday) "Are you in the National Guard?" "How old are you"?

Its already answered. There are some questions which u can ask in a technical or hr interview to the employer. Like you can ask about company's future growth prospects, your job profile, negotiate salary, salary increase, etc. You may also ask about Leave policies, flexibility in job, Persons working under you, Can u take work home or not? etc. You may not ask any Illegal Interview questions like Asking about the Dominant religion, faith, race, etc. of the company's workers. This usually happens in Technology companies where foreigners work. Here http://previouspapers.blogspot.com/2008/02/hr-interview-help-and-preparation-for.html you can see more hr, technical interviews questions and more.
