  • It is basically a simple opinion based on individual likes and dislikes.
  • I agree - its all down to personal preferences. I prefer light pinks yet my sister always paints her, orange, blue, purple - the brighter the better in her eyes. I don't think that hers look bad, I just wouldn't choose those colours myself.
  • Mins are always painted. Mt feet are one of the few bits of my body I am 100% happy with, so I like to decorate them. Currently, they are a deep wine colour, which compliments my pale skin. In summer, they tend to be brighter colours thet look good in sandals
  • Because it is what they like? I think most people who opaint their nails, and I am one of those, do it because we like the look and in my case, my husband even likes the brighter colors. It's like jewelry for your feet, not just tidy natural looking nails. And I usually have my feet hennaed besides, so that's further decoration, even the bottoms of my feet. But I don't wear much makeup on my face because I prefer the natural look there.
  • Well, basically, something to do really.
  • Very subjective, lol. Mine are bright red right now. Why? I like to look down and see my feet are taken care of and the bright color cheers me up. I usually have a bright color on my toes. As a side note, my fingernails are usually just trimmed and buffed and I use only a touch of make-up on a daily basis. It really is just a toenail thing for me. =)
  • I like red toenails. mine are pink just now but i might go and paint them red in protest. I, personally, wouldn't go for dark colours but people do it because they LIKE it.
  • I am a guy and I go to the salon every two weeks for a pedicure. I usually get my toenails polished in a bright red color like OPI Big Apple, or OPI I'm not Really a Waitress. I get many compliments from women on my pedicure and choice of color. I wear sandals all year round and it cheers me up to look down and see ten red toenails. My wife and I usually have matching pedicures. It is just a form of self expression like getting a tattoo, but it is better than a tattoo because you can easily remove it and change the color. Sometimes I will also get a white flower on my big toenails. It is really cute with the red polish. Jamie
  • I paint my toes whatever color that I feel like at the time, and I do it for me. Right now, they are beigey-gold but a week ago they were a deep burgundy.
  • I am glad to hear that women largely do it for themselves...because I can assure you, most men are turned off by it...I personally find painted toes, painted faces, painted fingernails gross and disgusting. Why do women seem to gravitate to the superficial more so than men...at least from a personal appearance perspective? AS a man, I prefer women who spend less time trying to accentuate the physical aspects of their sex, but rather focus more on accentuating the humanistic side of their sex/person. It is such a sad commentary on the female sex when I hear them say, for example, "I want to feel pretty or I want to feel like a women." Go do something good for your fellowman and the good feelings you'll receive will be far greater than anything you get by looking in a mirror after you have finished painting yourself

  • For the same reason people wear different styles of clothing; individualism! I wear those red colors you mentioned in your query because I like them and my HUSBAND likes them. Those are the ONLY two reasons. . . .I need!
