Is there a specific file type (AVI, DiVx etc) you need for a movie to work with Windows DVD Maker? I tried to add a movie and it said its invalid or corrupted.

Windows DVD maker should work with most major formats. The problem might indeed be that that particular file is corrupted or that you are missing a codec. There's a CCCP codec pack available on the net that might help, but be careful what codec pack you install as some of them effectively 'break' Windows DVD maker, especially in Vista.
