What do you think of women who refer to themselves by their husband's name? Ex. "Mrs. John Adams."

Somewhat old fashioned but it has a certain dignity to it that I admire.

i think its rather old fashioned and definately not something the modern womon would choose. however, my elderly aunt still refers to herself and others in this way. she is 82, very strong minded. even her email address is mrs terence so-and-so. i think she is funny.

It doesn't bother me when people do that. It is very traditional and I know a lot of older woman that do that. And of course a lot just married woman that do that too.

As far as I know, it is usual in France. Or at least, it was some years ago.
