With halloween coming up do you plan to crave a pumpkin? Do you use a kit or freestyle it?

Freestyle but I usually get ideas from magazines. The best part is roasting the seeds afterward. :)

I plan to crave pumpkin (in pie, yummm) and I also plan to carve one. Find something kind of therapeutic about pumpkin carving.

Yes. We have been growing a pumpkin in our compost pile and hope to give it a big celebration on carving day. We're always looking for fun theme nights to do with the kids :) We are going to have a harvest ceremony when we pluck it from the vine, then we'll all carve it together and of course we'll name it over dinner and end the evening with my famous Jack-O-Lantern cake and the lighting of the Jack-O-Lantern.

I know how to do the detailed carvings, and have a book of "shadow art".. Black and white images... I've been using this for years and have had great results.

No pumpkin plans on my end, don't do Halloween.

I'm Mr. Freehand carver and I wouldn't dare to use a kit. It takes all the fun out of it. The little mistakes one makes in carving brings out the uniqueness of the Jack O'lantern like this image with some are teeth.

I Carve a umpkin. It is tradition in my family to carve a pumpkin. I usse a kit. It makes them seem so much more professional. I also let me help pick a pumpkin and draw a face for me to carve. Fun for them.

I make my own patterns, sometimes on the computer and sometimes by drawing freehand. I'm Pagan so this year I've been sketching a lot of Pagan and Wiccan patterns freehand. I can't seem to post a link because it's telling me it can't use an animated gif-- I don't know how it gets that because my file is a jpeg, maybe I'm doing something wrong.
