I like both, but it really depends on the food. I use black pepper more often...and LOTS of it. Love spicy food!!

I am a hot sauce kind of person. Tabasco or Frank's Red Hot. It's all good. When they come at me in a restaurant with the black pepper grinder, I know I am in a highfalutin kind of joint.

I use both just depending on what I'm eating. I use Watkins black pepper because I've found it to be the best. I'm also a BIG Tabasco and Habenero pepper sauce user. I like it spicy !

I love black pepper, I love spiciness and I love hot sauces if they have good flavor. If they are just hot for hot's sake, nope. I want something special for my hot. I usually don't have to add anything to make my food hotter as I like to put the heat in when cooking it. I enjoy well-seasoned, properly seasoned food.

I use red more during cooking and black more for sprinkling on my food. Justin Wilson used to say on his cooking show that red pepper is easily digested and black pepper is not. That is why he preferred red. I know that is not in answer to the question but I found it interesting.

Mostly black pepper. I only use red one for special ethnic recipes, and for omlettes. For some weird reason I like my omlette to be spicy!
