  • I have always given at least 2 weeks notice.
  • 2 weeks notice is only polite
  • I always give 2 weeks notice. Simply walking out would completely negate my whole work experience since I certainly couldn't use that place on my resume or as a reference.
  • I always give 2 weeks notice. I think there was maybe one time when I could only give a week due to circumstances beyond my control. But mostly 2 weeks.
  • Always always give notice. It's just not respectful to get up and leave. It shows great disregard for yur employer and it could hurt you later when you are looking for another job. References are always nice to have and if you can leave on a positive note, so much the better.
  • I ALWAYS give notice...more often than not I give a month...burning bridges hurts you worse than it hurts the employer.
  • I give 2 weeks notice so that if I ever need or want to go back to that job I know I left on good terms. Once I had a much better paying job lined up and the place I gave my 2 weeks notice to only scheduled me once over the the next two weeks so I started the new job and called in "sick" on my last shift of the first job. They pissed me off by only scheduling me once!
  • On my last job, no. IT WAS A SURPRISE!!! On previous jobs, yes.
  • It's best to give notice. You never know, the new job may not work out and you may need your old job back. Always leave a job on good terms. Never burn your bridges.
