When you say keratin, are your referring to the nail plate? And I need to know a bit more about what you mean b affecting the keratin? In what way? The nail plate is made up of approximately 100 layers of DEAD flattened keratin cells. Dead is dead no matter how you look at it. So technically nail polish cannot affect the keratin. However if you do not use a good base coat while polishing that "keratin" will discolor.
