Why do crows gather in flocks during the day?

    crows are social animals and also there is a safety issue.A member of the flock will sit aloft a high perch and watch for danger as the others feed. If danger is spotted the "watchout crow" will sound a loud warning for the feeding crows. Also when a good food supply is found by one it verbally informs the others.
