haha yeah, how cheesy would that be
-
Just don't laugh slothmister! Thats what I did to a congratulate me for level 2 , I rated them up while laughing and got really beat up for it. But to answer your question.... Yes, very funny.
-
sloth, you certainly would obtain a large number of points if you congratulated yourself ;) I pondered this earlier today actually. I know the whole points thing doesn't matter, but if one were, say, achieving Sage, they certainly have a tough time of moving up in levels, you know? They need all the help they can get! lol :) I wonder if people trade each other congratulations, like, if I congratulate you will you congratulate me?
-
I would rather they do that then it go by and no one noticed! I hate it when someone isn't congratulated on their special day.
-
Sometimes the self-congratulatory ones are ironic - so it would be nice that you caught the humour in it and found it funny.
-
A bit tacky, especially when you see it back to back to back.
-
I congratulate myself for the hardwork, and fellow ABers celebrate with me,like Babycakes said "I would rather they do that then it go by and no one noticed! I hate it when someone isn't congratulated on their special day!"
-
It's not really funny. It's very pathetic that someone feels the need to draw attention to themselves in that way. I give those question the attention they deserve - I ignore them.
-
Hands down, someone else.
-
Someone else. You look like you're screaming for attention otherwise.
-
Someone else, its just not the same if you have to do it yourself.
-
I would congratulate them, but I think I would rather have someone do it for me.
-
grats on the self gratz... o_O
-
Someone else should do it because it is nicer to receive praise, than to blow your own horn.
-
I don't even think I should be congratulated at all. I mean, what I do here can hardly be seen as "work."
-
There's no such thing as "hard work on AB"... for most people AB activity is work-avoidance at their jobs, so it definitely can't be classed as work... if anything it is "anti-work". And it's only a website anyway, nothing worth congratulations goes on here as far as I have noticed.
-
Someone else should do or you look like your patting yourself on the back!!
-
I think it's rude and attention-seeking to do it yourself. Someone else will usually notice your accomplishment and start a thread for you. If you must, email someone to do it for you. I also think that congratulating anyone for reaching a level less than Sage (50) cheapens the accomplishment of those who do reach Sage and above. I personally don't participate in level threads beneath Sage.
-
blowing your own trupet is never a good look ...let your peer's praise you ...when THEY think you have earned it
-
When I reach brain, I would like someone to congratulate me. It'll be a while though... :)
-
Someone else, why be cocky and greedy (just trying to rack up more points) about it?
-
It always good to give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. If someone else recognises the effort they will give you congratulations as well.
-
I nobody noticed that they reached a high level, I could understand them showing some pride and wanting to get their applause. But I would rather be congratulated by someone else.
