  • During a VERY stressful period in my life I did experience severe panic/anxiety attacks. The doctor prescribed Xanax which helped bunches.
  • I did suffer from a pit in my stomach when I had to speak in front of a group in which I had to 2 times a week for 2 months.I drank a cup of water and trained myself that talking in front of others is fun,for once I was up there it was easy.
  • I do and it sucks.
  • Yes.... severely.... It is horrid and embarrassing....
  • Yes it's horrible & scary.
  • Sure do and it's miserable to have no control over them.
  • I had panic attacks when my parents were getting divorced. It was a nasty time. I haven't had a full blown panic attack since I was 17..but I've come close a few times. Unfortunately, now when I get stressed out, I'm more likely to puke than anything else.
  • Yes, several...
  • When the Tampa Bay Bucs made it to the Super Bowl in 2002 and................WON!!!
  • Not that I know of but I think I had some Post tramatic stress disorder after a car accident. I sometimes still let my foot off the gas with out knowing that i am slowing down because of the thougts of an accident. I would white knuckle in the passenger seat going around curves. I don't do it as often. I feel a big concern for those comming back from fighting in Iraq.
  • Yeah. I can barely talk about it.
  • I had a few, and its bothering me because it changed my life completely, i dont do many thing of fear of having it again.
  • I sure have. Those are never fun!
  • Yep ...ofcourse I've had :-)
  • I've been fortunate to not have one yet. I have a friend who had a really bad attack, he worked at UPS (the shipping company). UPS wound up paying for his therapy and recovery process, which he described as a 6 month vacation.
  • A few times. Felt like a heart attack.
  • I don't really think so. I have been under extreme stress sometimes and in deep depression a couple of times, but I don't think I've ever had an anxiety attack.
  • And do you take a medicine for that?
  • Yes and I hate them.
  • I do, yes. I am on a medication which helps tremendously. Before I was on the medicine, I would freak out driving away from my own house. I couldn't even be gone a little while, alone, without having an anxiety attack. I would always feel that "something" was going to happen. I just didn't know "what" or "when". Your trapped. While I am still taking the same medicine for about 5 years now, occasionally I do have a mild attack. That is NOTHING like I have had in the past, believe me. My symptoms have been as follows: throat feeling like it is constricting closed, extremely fast heart rate, feeling like I can't get enough air, shaking all over, icy cold hands and/or feet, sometimes I couldn't even think clearly for some reason, high adrenalin and feeling extremely weak. I don't know why God wired me the way I am but it is what it is and I have finally reached a point in my life where I can somewhat help myself recover from potential triggers. I have finally accepted that this will never go away on it's own. When I was a youngster I used to wonder why I felt "weird" and "different". Now I know. That must have been the early onset of my anxiety. OK, I will stop now...LOL!!!
  • I've had many and I think the last was because of how warm it was in my bedroom. It lasted for like 20 minutes. I stuck my head out the window and did those deep breathing exercises they tell you to do in the mental hospital.
  • I used to suffer with panic attacks when I was younger. Often triggered by nothing but my over active imagination. They usually lasted about 10 minutes, buut knock on wood I haven't had one for probably 6 years.
  • I have had several panic attacks, and generalized anxiety as well. I didn't experience much depression, though, which is often corellated with attacks. In general, my condition developed from overworking myself and not sleeping enough. I developed insomnia because my mind would not shut up at bedtime. Eventually, my body was not rested/healthy enough to handle high stress. Then the panic attacks started. They lasted for a few minutes, or even close to an hour. Generally, though, I was able to stop them with medication (which is not for everyone, but it worked fine for me). I may have had a genetic predisposition for anxiety, but environmental conditions brought it out. I took Xanax for panic/anxiety and Dalmane for sleep. Both are safe when taken as prescribed. I didn't feel out of it or high at all... I finally felt normal again. It is worth considering medication if your problem continues, and you should try a therapist as well.
  • I just had one. Luckily my sweet loving husband can help take care of me.
  • Occasionally.
  • yes, its awful :(
  • I have a couple per year
  • yes i use to suffer from panic attacks but i overcame it i mean really i just dont have them like i use to anymore but there is always a way for you to overcome your problems just beleive u can and have faith and pray and your prayer will be answeared.
  • Yes I do.
  • I get anxiety attacks and for some strange reason I only get them at work. They last for 8 hours
  • Never.
  • I suffer from anxiety attacks when I have to drive in snowstorms. I now take 150mg of Wellbutrin before I have to drive and I am much better. The attacks would last as long as I had to drive or be in a vehicle during the storm.
  • I just started to get them now that i am older.. I get them if i go out drinking the next day i feel horrible like i did something wrong. Im having anxiety today waiting on test results.. i cant sleep or do much of anything ....just waiting for the results is killin me... wish i had a pill to help me chill.
  • I've had anxiety attacks that have lasted for over a year. They happened because of psychological damage done from too much drug abuse. My mind would dwell on things that made me worry and dread. It was pretty miserable. I never got any help for it either. They have pretty much gone away and I'm glad I didn't get on more drugs to help ease the problem.
  • I had what I thought were panic attacks when I was in college. My heart would race, I would get dizzy, and experienced nausea. Later (8 years) I began having stomach problems. They ran all sorts of tests. Bascially, they told me it was in my head and wanted to put me on anti-depressants (I refused). Well, long story short, 4 years ago they found out that I have a genetic heart disease. The symptoms can be managed with medication. So, the first thing you need is a complete physical. Please make sure that you don't have a medical condition that the doctor's are missing because they think that it is anxiety. My symptoms, I was told by my cardiologist, are typical of a woman experiencing the first stages of heart failure, but all the "specialists" missed it.
  • Yes I used to suffer it badly. You can have a multitude of symptoms like heart beating fast or missing a beat, feeling faint or dizzy, wierd spacey feelings, numbness or tingling, sense of impending doom, sickness or nausea, visual disturbances, hearing voices and sense of unreality. It is important to recognise that these symptoms are brought on my panic if you only get them when you are anxious of getting them and things will feel more clear again when the anxiety has subsided. Anxiety attacks are awful!
  • I did before I started Cymbalta for my anxiety, they felt like I was having a heart attack. I would loose my breath, my heart would race, I would feel lighthead and dizzy.
  • I haven't experienced it !But I've gone through some form of depression!
  • used to get them alot it can change alot from person to person though and there are different levels 1. your heart beats very fast, skip a beat, or very strong beats that you feel through your whole body. 2. sometimes breathing fast and being out of breath even when just sitting, or full on hyperventilate. 3. since your breathing fast and getting less oxygen your face (mostly) or skin goes numb and tingley like it fell asleep and like someone randomly stabs little bunches of accupuncture needles into your temples. 4. being light headed, from less oxygen. 5. your muscles all say RUN!!!! because of the adrenalin in your system. 6. because of the adrenaline in your system and your fight or flight reaction your blood rushes to your muscles (making them feel like they HAVE to move). since blood rushes to your muscles your digestive system is left with less blood giving you you cramps and diahrea. 7. you get a similar sensation as to being on a roller coaster so taking deep breaths feels so comforting for that second you gulp up some air, but right after you get the horrible feeling back. 8. some people experience such panic that some of their muscles will tighten up so much and completely stiff to give their fingers, hands, or feet a look of being contorted. It's the same exact feeling as getting in a car accident. i dont mean you are pumped full of adrenaline and are in shock, i mean the moment after when your heart is beating a million miles an hour, you cant breath right, and everything seems so raw and real that you feel that you KNOW theres nothing good in the world but for some reason you would do anything in your power to stay in it. it makes you feel empty, hopeless, and nothing matters but what your scared about at that moment. just the complete feeling of dread and panic
  • Yes! With me I wake up in the middle of the night and then my mind starts racing like crazy 100 diff thoughts at once my throat gets really tight and it gets hard for me to breathe i get sweaty and cold at the same time. I get a tightness in my chest and I have to pace the room this can last for 1hr or 4 hrs depending on how servere the anxiety attack is. The next morning my throat is sore from the tensing of the attack. Its pretty bad. the only thing that helps me is I take a xanax before i go to sleep.
