Because we have opposable thumbs, stand upright and use tools The dogs need to have SOME advantage to get prey in the wild.

Because dogs need it more than we do, same reason they have better noses than us. Animals have what they need to survive. We don't need to hear or prey and smell our prey to find dinner. But we can use our brains and our hands to wield implements of farming and hunting and get our dinner that way.
