This map is the very first known map of the world (I mean the whole world). A cartographer named Piri Reis drew it in 1513, comprising all the information at hand at that time (including not only occidental-made maps, but also chinese and indian graphs).
Piri was born in Gallipoli around 1470 and died in 1554. He lived in a time that maritime intercontinental travel was in its first stages, and he considered that captains would need some kind of help to explore the new and old world.
The special thing about Pirii Reis' map was that it showed the complete landmass of Antartica, including the correct shoreline structure, rivers, mountains and other geographic landmarks which are beneath the ice and were only discovered by modern science in the last decades...
