I look at the kids today with their cell phoneitis and addiction to texting and realize my generation was much different. We actually passed notes of paper that we actually wrote on. We actually went outside and played, instead of playing video games non-stop. We had no computers, only a few kids I knew had an apple IIe, but the internet was not even thought of yet.(unti Al Gore decided to create it. lol) MTV had rock music and only videos back in the day, and seatbelts were still optional. When I used to think about waiting 45 minutes for a pot pie in the oven, and now the kids are bitching about 4 minutes in the microwave, I realized how much things have changed.

I have a friend of 25 years who was is in less than perfect health. The last time I saw his son, his son was about 12. Last week, I was sitting at a poker game drinking beer and smoking cigarettes when LO and Behold!!! The son was calling my raise and blowing smoke rings. He too was smoking and drinking. (23?) I didn't realize it made me feel old until I asked him how his dad was doing... He took a big slug of beer and said "real good, thanks for asking".
