  • I think that's ridiculous. Some people think kids (or young adults) are all just totally irresponsible, when they fail to look at adults.
  • Teens do enough stupid stuff behind the wheel and need the added distraction even less than adults do. I think it's reasonable to ban them for 18 and under only, if not 21 and under.
  • Yep thats unfair, in the UK, EVERYONE is banned from using a mobile phone while driving unless they are using a hands free kit.
  • It is unfair. Everyone should be banned.
  • All drivers can be reckless. People who work and use cars for their work often use their phones illegally while driving, so I see no reason to ban younger people and not older. We all can get distracted and age is no factor in how easily a person is distracted.
  • Yes, ban everyone.
  • In our state, using a cell phone by any driver is an offense, not just teenagers. But almost nobody ever gets a ticket.
  • It does seem unfair, but the ban is based on driver experience. Adults, while they do stupid things in cars, have more experience with driving and *arguably* faster reaction times and better coordination. There's a reason insurance rates are higher for new drivers. A cell phone ban makes perfect sense, and I can tell you as someone who's nearly been clipped on a bike by several cell-phone divers, that it's badly needed. But you make a good point; the ban should be across the board.
