I turned 50 this year. Fifty is not so bad. There's alot to be said for being as young as you feel. Exercise, etc, are important aspects to looking and feeling young.

BTW, this is payback for me. I lost my hair before 21 and people used to think I was years older than I was; now they think I'm years younger.

I'm almost there, 2 years and 2 days to go. When I was young, 50 was ancient. I feel pretty good, so I will say not so old.

When I was young, 50 sounded ancient. They say that old is always 20 years older than you are. But now that I'm in my mid-50's (for awhile yet, smile), I like to see people my age behaving like elders and not trying to 'act' young. To everything there is a season.

Young. Most of my friends are about 50. As well as many of the guys I've dated. If they can keep up with this 29 year-old, they're not "old."

personally I don't but funny how age works.
when your young 50 looks very old
when your reaching 50 it is depressing and scary
when you hit 50 you think hey I dont feel any different.
when you pass 50 by you say to those 50 and younger. ah your haven't lived yet wait until you get to my age.

Not so old! I'm 44, and hubby's 49. I may even be persuaded to go with young!

Of course, when I was 15, I thought 50 was old and washed up.

Wow! Didn't know I was keeping company with so many people around the magical age of 50! I am 54, amazed that I have been around for half a century, feeling fine and not old! I like to be around people of this age because they usually have become comfortable with themselves and life around them.

I think it has alot to do with how you have spent your 50 yrs once you've gotten there.
If you were a coal miner all your life, yes , it's very old.
If you spent it doing things you love with people you love and you have good health and lots of prospects then it's not old at all.

Smart2 is back! Did you miss me?

I hear 50 is the new 30 - there are soooo many baby-boomers as we who were born in the 40s and early 50s are so affectionately referred to.
I used to think 50 was old - when I was in high school, my mom was 50 and that seemed ancient.
Now I'm 58 and I think it's pretty cool. I wish I had felt this good, looked this good, had this much confidence, and appreciation for my lifestyle when I was younger. But alas, sometimes with age comes wisdom...

In my opinion, 50 is neither young nor old. I suppose that's why they call it "midlife." I'm past 50 and it was sorta the milestone for me that I stopped wearing anything outside the house that remotely branded me as trying to look "sexy." I say, "if you can't be young, be elegant!"

When I was a child, a person about 2-3 years older seemed old for me, when I was a teenage, a person after 20 years seemed old for me.when I was 30 I was afraid even to say this number. Now I think that even 60 is a young person.I`m not afraid that time when I`m 50.The most important I think to have the good health, have an interesting life ,and answer as interesting questions like this one.

Depends on the person.. Young and Old are more than just a year...

Before they moved, my grandparents used to go visit the "old man on the corner" ... He was 91, they were 87.

I consider age 50 to be exactly the middle age!

This is evidenced by all the members of the "Smucker's Club" who have reached age 100 or better. My favorite quote regarding age is this; "age is a matter of mind, if you don't mind, it don't matter."

Every age is what you make of it so why not enjoy!

Age fifty is the beginning of your sixth decade of life. Hopefully you will get through your sixth decade without developing cancer or heart disease as many people do. Fifty can be joyous and you still can feel young but practice moderation and you should still feel "youngish" when you reach sixty.

I think someone who's 50 is still young. When I was a teenager I used to think that 40 was old but as you get older and "wiser" you realize that 50 is still not so bad. I must say that cause I'm half way to 50.
