It seems like any moron who can stand in front of a camera these days is a "star". What happened to the old Hollywood where a handfull of TALENTED people were "STARS"?

I've noticed that same thing. I think that there is a difference between real stars and people who have merely been in front of a camera for a movie or television show. Most people know the difference, and I don't think they have conversations about the little teenyboppers in the latest chick flick or B-rated kids movie. Surely, you've had a conversation where you mentioned an actor/actress you liked and someone else agreed with you, brought up someone else and you agreed...this sort of conversation seems to have a small number of people whom we talk about and admire as real stars. I've had that sort of talk zillions of times. Also, some people seem to enjoy obsessing over people who have been made "famous", but that's something I'll never understand.

TMC has great movies. I don't think we'll be seeing that sort of talant for sometime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actors are commodities these days, all about who is going to bring in the most money. They come and go so fast, not many who get a lifetime career out of it anymore. That alone indicates the talent is not what it used to be. I do think there are a couple of actors who will have some longevity, but not the herds of them shuffling through Hollywood all the time.

look at it this way. es, you may have a bunch of crappy actors and famose ppl.BUT it makes it mch easyer for you or I to become famouse! also, if theres a great actor, before he would be seen as average compared to the few others, but now compared to reality TV stars he or she will find it easyer to become a star because he merely has to beat tila tequila, not al pacino.

to counter my previous comment, I f there are crappy actors, good actors dont have to be great to exell. so it can be look at diffrent ways. Still, therers a chance that if I post a good video on, say, youtube (im 14)then I could be popular for nothing! thats good~! at least for me...
