  • I've never had that happen, but, there are two ways of moving. The easy way or the hard way. It's up to them.
  • Gently push them out of the way and get where I'm going.
  • Become a Steamroller and mow 'em down! Barring that, walk around them and give them a look to kill.
  • I just have to tell this story. I was on a C-train (LRT) a few years back on my way to see my new boyfriend and I went to sit down but there was a lady with her feet in the way, I said "Excuse me", she looked at me for a moment and then looked away, I was of course put off by her lack of manners, as she'd obviously heard me, and just didn't care, so I said "MOVE" She immediatly snapped at me "there are plenty of other seats, PICK ONE" I was so pissed I took her feet and moved them myself. She of course stood up and swore at me like crazy and eventually moved seats. I couldn't believe that a person would act that way to somebody they didn't know, I was so frustrated. I told my new boyfriend the story and he was just as appauled as I was. Later we went out the the bar and he introduced me to his best gal friend....... You guessed it, mean feet lady!
  • My patent answer if " 'Excuse me' is English for get the f*ck out of my way...please"
  • Shank them in the face. ^_~
  • I won't say anything I'll just push them out of the way for being rude.
  • And I have to tell this story. I was in Walmart and there were some girls blocking the isle. I said excuse me, they turned, looked me up and down, and went right back to talking. I said excuse me again, they again turned, looked me up and down, this time they hmmmmphed their disgust at being disturbed and went right back to talking. I finally rolled the cart up behind them and said "a little etiquette lesson is in order here, in case you didn't understand excuse me means, get the HELL out of the way." They moved, bless their hearts. ;o)
  • Since this is the "Etiquette" forum the answer is you simply find another route. If you are in an establishment that has "supervisors" or someone of that like, then you report it to them and request that they have the offending person removed from wherever it is they are obstructing passage. Personally, I would wait patiently for a bit for them to notice my presence and need to get past them. If they didn't notice me on their own, I would politely say, "I'm sorry, but I need to get by". If they said something like, "too bad", or "tough", or "no", I would be stunned for a moment. Then I would probably say, "I'm sorry this inconveniences you but I really need to get past you here, could you please scoot over just a bit?" If they still were unwilling to be helpful, I'd turn around and find a different way to get to where I was going. Sadly, though, if they were vulgar towards me I would not be nice in return. I know that isn't how it should be handled but I would respond to their inconsiderate behavior in the same manner they were treating me, which makes me no better than the trash they are. Sigh....
