  • Yeah, I got to the park, which was about a mile away, if that, then went back home to see if anyone was looking for me and ran straight into my brother.
  • Yes I did. I cut the screen off of my bedroom window and jumped out (2nd story). I went to my friends house and stayed the night. My mother knew exactly where I was at and she came to get me the next morning.
  • When I as very little, I did try to run away. The paperboy returned me home!!!
  • Yes. I was a teenager and one of my good friends tried to talk me out of it. When I wouldn't give in, he went with me. I got about 5 miles out of town, realized it wasn't such a good idea and went back. Found out later that my friend had told my dad about it and was there to keep me safe until I changed my mind.
  • Yes I did but know one noticed they all thought that id been outside playing, I was not happy lol
  • I planned it a few times, never tried it. I knew I would need money and food and a place to sleep, which I didn't have. And walking wouldn't take me far.
  • Yeah, when I was like ten I packed a bag full of clothes, left for about four hours, got hungry and came home. Ha ha.
  • on a family trip i was offered a job at a sailing company in u.s. virgin islands... went back two weeks later without my family... caught a greyhound to atlanta walked/hitched the rest of the way to miami where i got on a boat working for a small cruise line(not fun work 20 hour days and as a noncontract employee i was making about $50 a day)... got to usvi and when i showed up to start working the guy was like "oh you took that seriously" apparently he tells all the guys that go down there with their families that they could have a future in sailing... it gives them something to talk about i guess. i felt terrible so i got right back on the cruise ship and finished the two week tour with them before going home.
  • Yes. And you better not tell your kids it's not good for them. I ran away at 3 years old & that circus treated me just like family. I wouldn't be where I am today if they hadn't taken me in.
  • Me and my little brother packed our little suitcases... My brother was 4 and I was 6... and we packed our little suitcases with our toys and I had my balloon on my wrist... my mother had just gotten done yelling at us about leaving our toys laying around and told us that she wanted us to leave and never see us again... So we walked out and walked down the street... I was holding my brothers hand and we were heading to my stepdads work... which was 5 blocks away... Well my mom came running down the road after us and was screaming at us to come back... Then she spanked us and grounded us from our toys... She was so nice!! :o)
  • Don't laugh. I ran away to the store in bare feet and bought Popsicles with pennies and then came back more than once.
  • In the second grade, a boy and I were going to hitch hike to the next town, 6 miles away, to live with his uncle. We didn't even get out of town before my grandmother and 2 of the older neighborhood kids found us walking in the general direction we wanted to go, thumbs out for a ride!
  • I havn't but I know someone who did.
  • The first time I was sent to a group home, I ran away about two months later in the dead of Winter to go back with my dad. But it was in different neighbourhoods, but I completely managed to get to where my dad was by desperately telling people in bus shacks what was going on, and one old lady gave me money for the bus. She also offered to call the cops, (I made stuff up to make it sound better lol.) and I was like, NOO! I scrounged some discarded bus transfers I found on the ground in hopes that the bus driver wouldn't notice they were no good, because I had to take two buses to get there. I didn't know which ones to take though, and had to ask people. I almost thought the bus driver was taking me in the completely wrong place, but it turned out fine, and I didn't even have to take a second bus after all. Eitehr you took the 16 Islandlakes or 18 something, I don't really remember which ones went where. My dad was like, what the hell when he saw me and I told him I wanted to live with him and started bawling. I think he was pretty sad, but because of court dictations, he had no choice but to send me back, although he still let me stay with him until the evening. Still I didn't want to go back, and was completely distraught when he told me he had no choice. When I did get back, it was hell of course. I never tried running away again, because I knew that while I was capable enough to succeed, that it wouldn't work. In my later teenage years I used to go off for days and visit my dad, and although he had to call child and Family services and let them know where I was, he still enjoyed my visits. I'd get picked up or go back on my own eventually.
  • Yep I sure did. One night when i was 6 years old I packed up my clothes and my doll and I moved out. I got to the first frog and decided home wasn't so bad after all :)
  • lots of times... the 1st time i walked out got about 1 min down the street and my mum dragged me home i also went to my mates house after school on the friday when it was time to go home i said bye to her mum and dad and snuck back upstairs and hid in my mates cubboard for the weekend my mum called the cops and they found me on the sunday i ran away shortly after that but my dad found me in the estate about an hour walk away...
  • I ran away alot...but yea know what? I never realized how pointless it was considering I always ended up in the same place...with the same problems.
  • I used to go into the green belt. Now my son is a little brat like that and threatens me all the time. haha
