  • difrent corals grow at difrent rates, reef building corals such as encrusting "brain" corals can grow very slowly (0.5-2cm a year). some softer corals such as Xenia can form massive colonys (tens of metres across) in only 20-100years. many aquaculturists find some corals frustratingly slow and some grow like weeds and although look beautifull, can take over a tank in a mater of a few months! i hope i have helped answer your question
