I routinely give wrong answers - outrageously wrong answers... It really annoys me to see kids who are sooo lazy they'd come here to cheat... It's more work to post a question here, then to simply look up the River Seine, or whatever... I worked hard to achieve excellent grades and honors throughout school. I hate that others think they can cheat their way to what I earned....

I'm in, I usually give wrong answers to any math question or anything else that looks like homework.

I know I've been tempted. It makes me crazy to see that. Although I secretly hope to one day catch one of my kids asking for help on my homework. That would make me laugh.

I wouldn't. I might provide them with a link or just completely ignore the question. Also there is no definite way to decide if a question is for homework or not. I guess I just don't have the heart.

Ehhh I don't like the idea, AB is meant for answering questions, even if it is some cheating little bastard. Just ignore the question, why spread misinformation?

Sometimes I think maybe they don't know the answers for their homework and they are seeking help. I would not give a misleading answer, I would just not respond.

Personally, I just don't answer them and I'm really surprised at how many people do. If a kid is honest and really seeking 'help', and not just an answer, I'm happy to oblige. Otherwise, my fingers get itchy to respond with the old standby, "Do your own homework!" The thing that kills me is that if they're savvy enough to come here or to Y!A with their questions, they can certainly type in a few keywords in a search engine and get the right answer. Just giving them the answer is not helping them. We already have enough kids sliding through the educational system, mainly due the lack of priority placed on education, resulting in very low funding, underpaid teachers, .... But, hell! I digress! ;-)

I agree with those who feel a high level of frustration with kids who spend more energy typeing a question than it would take to Google it. And I hate to encourage kids using these answer sites to find shortcuts to homework. I have a tendency to try and tell them how to find the answer. But on occasion, when a kid seems to be doing ALL of his homework on here, I will give almost correct answers, or ignore them.

I think that geeks who spend time jacking eachother off on stupid web sites like this are pathetic. Have you ever heard of Karma? Maybe the next time you all need help with something like moving out of your mom's house you'll get a big F-U too.

I don't see a problem with them, they are questions, this is a question and answer site. I'll help, I'll point people in the right direction and show them how to do it, and I'll NEVER give a wrong answer on purpose, thats nasty.

Any student that comes to AB for homework assignment answers deserves to fail. having said that I don't believe in homework, educators are getting paid big bucks to teach students.It should be done in the classroom not at home. Some people home school their children thereby putting teachers out of work, but the home schoolers should get teachers wages.

yeah, it annoys me to see people who're doing all their homework on answerbag. wouldn't it be easier to just do the research? i say we give totally wrong answers so they start doing the work themselves.

Don't act like that!! This sit eis for helping people to answer their questions and what better way is there?? I would appreciate answering their homework questions!! Don't forget we were once kids too!! We tried to cheat too!! C'mon did you do all your homeworks by yourself and never got help from anybody??? That would be a lie!!

No. We shall not give the wrong answer. The important thing is knowledge, not if it's homework or not. At school, it's like homework exists just because it's homework and not because of any knowledge.
