Popeye and most all the others of that era were more charming, innocent, funny and entertaining. I enjoy them still whenever I see one on the air. It is a time that we, unfortunately, will probably never return to. Sad.

The one thing that got under my f**king skin about that cartoon was how Olive Oyl played the both of those dopes.

they were fun and i liked how animators put so much "violence" and "profanity" where as today cartoons for kids the same age as popey cartoons where directed toward and really sheltered.
