That they really are two of the best parents I could ever ask for.

How difficult life was for them. My father was injured and severely crippled but as a child it was never really brought to my attention that he was any different than anybody else's father. My parents protected me from all the pain.

that even tho they were divorced they stuck together on punishments and what was right and wrong and that they talked about what we were doing. They agreed on everything! I once tried to tell my dad "mom said it's ok" I caught hell about ten mnts later when he got off the phone and then again from mom when I got home.

Once I hit my early teens.. I ceased to think of my parents as people and showed no appreciation for them. I think I even got to where I had no appreciation for them. I have always had two parents who loved me and gave me the best that they could give. I slapped them in the face (not literally) time and time again and shoved their love down their throats. I think back often on the hard work and dedication both had for their family and the total lack of regard I had for them and I want to vomit.. but being there.. got me here.. and here.. I treasure my parents and have a deep love for them that surpasses youthful transgressions. Both are not well and I am there for them 24/7. I am very blessed to be allowed the opportunity to show them how beautiful they are to me by being there for them.
