  • It is an emotional release. And it is completely normal and healthy. If someone claims they never cry, I would doubt them or wonder what was wrong with them!!
  • Oh man I am so glad this is one of your questions Misstarie. You aren't the only one who feels that way. I have done more than my fair share of crying as ou very well know over the last couple of years and often it does make me feel much better afterwards I would tend to agree with what Katie said about it being an emotional release. and Katioe don't pass out from the shock of a man actually admitting that he cries alot. Misstarie knows exactly why I do so. and I am comfortable enough in who I am to not be ashamed to admit when I am crying.
  • I cry often, and always alone. There is so much sadness out there, so many horrific things we do to one another-for me, it can be to over whelming.
  • I agree, and I wish I knew why.
  • depends on what i'm crying about, but usually it makes me feel better.
  • I think I'm one of those rare people that finds the act of crying unhelpful when I'm upset. It always, always makes me feel worse. When I was younger, crying used to be a release, and I would feel better afterwards. Over the past few years, though, I've found myself trying to avoid crying because it usually makes me feel more depressed and alone. The only type of crying I enjoy now is from laughing really hard.
  • I just feel like a sobby twat when I cry, it doesn't make me feel better at all.
  • Your body actually releases substances in your tears and your body also does kind of a chemical rebalancing act.
  • crying never fails to release different kinds of tension inside your body so feel free to cry, it always makes someone better :) did you know that tears compose different substances that varies with different emotions? so you can actually know if the person is actually faking with their emotions through tears..

  • WHen you cry (not when your eyes water for some other reason) you actually release certain chemicals and things that cause a relief to the body and that literally makes you feel better. It is a release of those chemicals that benefit you when you cry. If you never cry they stay there and can make you ill or at the very least keep the stress in your body compromising your immune system and health. Crying is very good for you.
  • Well i think you are not the only one cause it makes me feel better most of the times.
  • The purely technical answer to your question is endorphins. These are chemically which are released into the brain and make you feel "better", "happier" etc. The act of crying, the spontaneous release of suffering, releases endorphins into the bloodstream and makes you feel "better".
  • Wise words from Rosey Grier..
  • i think crying is the next best thing to choking the life out of the person that made you so upset that you cried
  • I cry to release frustration. So, yes, I feel better afterwards. I think that if you feel better afterwards, you probably do the same thing. I think it's healthy.
  • Crying relieves the pressure of whatever is making you feel bad. It's like a build up of emotion that must come out somehow and one exit is through crying.
  • It's a chemical thing.
  • Crying and emotions are a natural impulse you still need to deal with. Crying is just one reaction that you get out of the way and deal with. That's how I see it. Livia
  • Emotional tears contain enzymes and proteins. Scientist believe that crying rids the body of a build-up of chemicals thus making you feel better. Humans are the only species able to cry over emotion so take advantage of it if it makes you feel better! :P lol
  • Crying helps you release your emotions. That makes you feel better. :) You are totally not the only one that feels that way. Crying feels good.

  • Crying is such a release for me. I need to cry sometimes just to get out anger, frustration, sadness, loneliness, etc. I don't cry that much but when I do it can be a lot when I do finally cry. I always feel better after I cry.
