If oil prices haved soared, why have unleaded petrol prices also gone up?

From what i understand, gasoline(what we call petrol in the states) can be made from oil. I might not be exactly right on this point, but I'm pretty sure. Also, kerosine.

Petrol (gasoline) is produced from oil - higher oil prices mean higher petrol (gasoline) prices.
