My suggestion would be that those whose love is fixed exclusively on a single recipient are not 'normal' - they are obssessed and possess a pathological ability to focus their consciousness, allowing no breadth of love, affection or distraction from or by other people. I beleive this was the premise of the female charcter in 'Fatal Obssession' (I think thats what it was called?), But thats,

If they are really fortunate, that can happen. It's a good thing to feel love without restriction of affections. How to respond to it or act on it is a different matter. Sometimes it's best to enjoy it quietly and express it in careful ways. Not everything has to be acted upon immediately.

Define what "feelings" mean. For one to be truly in love with another usually it is hard to find feelings other than lust for someone else. When you find yourself in love with someone the feeling is infinite, it lasts forever whether it stays as romantic love or turns into platonic love it will never go away. I still love 2 of my exes that I was in love with and I will always love them however I understand that we cannot be together for various reasons and our love for each other has stepped down from romantic passionate love to strictly platonic love.
