Sadly, tinfoil is not the same as a non-stick pan. If your recipe calls for a non-stick pan and you absolutely have no other way to cook except to use tinfoil, then you coule try liberally coating the tinfoil with oil, butter, margarine, or dare we hope, a non-stick cooking spray like PAM.
I also suggest that you check out any camping cookbooks for other ideas on cooking with tinfoil - you public library is likely to have a good selection.
The one thing that is a plus is that you can discard the tinfoil and won't have to clean up any resulting mess. Hope this is helpful and happy cooking.

If you have a regular pan just grease it well and it might work. If you don't want to risk getting your pan dirty, you can wrap the inside of the pan with the foil and grease that instead. Grease with butter, oil or one of those sprays. Don't rub the foil too hard or you will tear it. When you are done cooking, just peel off and throw the foil away. Or just wash your dirty pan.
No it is not the same at all but if you grease it it will do the job when you do not have the correct pan.
If you are baking, you can line your pan with foil, but spray a little cooking spray or lightly grease the foil as well. If you are trying to fry something in a pan, just use oil or cooking spray instead of the just having a non-stick pan, which is like a teflon pan. Make sure you don't fry it at too high a heat either or it will stick.
Well, not the same, but it'll work...hopefully!
