Cornmeal could help. Try getting cornmeal that has not been processed, but rather horticultural cornmeal. Just plain ground-up corn kernals. Mix with water. Let it stand for about an hour or so. Then soak the infected area in the solution. It works for toenail fungis. It also works with plants. Dirtdoctor.com has information on it.

When taking any bath with vinegar, always make sure it is the clear vinegar. The smell is just as unpleasant as the dark vinegar, but it has been proven to as an relief agent to all kinds of skin irritations, including sunburns.

This type of bath is most definately safe for children, just be sure to keep out of eyes, and mouths as it will not taste the least bit inviting!..=)This is much safer than bubbles, and almost acts as an 'antibacterial' agent, making it ok for even the most delicate of areas. They even make vinegar douche for women, to prove that fact.

I recommend after a vinegar bath to rince off in the shower with "Aveno" soap. This is a natural oatmeal based soap, and is not overly perfumed or drying to the skin. Apply lotion afterwards also (Aveno also has some awesome lotions), as vinegar can be a bit drying if too much is used.

Also, a note on the fungus, my husband has a skin fungus that seems to spread all over his chest and back that is irritated by heat. The doctor said it is NOT a heat rash, and recommened the use of Calomine lotion to help keep it at bay when it's broken out, but also to wash his body with Head and Shoulders shampoo. I'm not sure what is in it that works, but it helps to ease the breakouts, and helps rid it as well.

Douching with vinegar is completely ineffective for anything except for pickling a woman's vagina. If you don't believe me, do some research. It isn't safe, contrary to the opinion of the person who said it. The pH balance of a woman's vagina CAN be too low as well as the other extreme (of course not at the same time, but you get what I'm saying). Not to mention the fact that it would burn really bad. As far as bathing in vinegar, I haven't heard anything about it and I wouldn't know how safe it is. The one thing I do know about vinegar is that it does work for some types of cleaning and it does have some health benefits if taken orally.
