The Internet, cell phones, regular(if not entirely perfected or safe)trips into space in a shuttle. Global Positioning Systems (I spent 6 years on an M-109 A6 Paladin which gets its targeting info via GPS, so I've seen the real application of GPS first hand, definately NOT my grandad's WWII artillery system). I suspect the world seemed alot bigger to our parents and grandparents.

OMG I don't even think I could begin to count the ways. The knowledge curve from this seems to have been, at least, logrithmic. It is such a different world now.
